Virtual encrypted volume

You may be curious about the ‘virtual encrypted disk’, ‘virtual partition’ terms. And how the virtual drive letter can appear or disappear from the system by a single click?

Actually the virtual drive was created using image-file. This file is a kind of special file as big as your virtual disk. All data from the disk is stored there. And this file is represented in Windows like a real disk device. Actually, Windows knows that this is not a real hardware disk :)

When you enter, the password disk is on, it can be used like other kind of disk. There is the possibility to create new files, to delete or edit any existent file and all the information is encrypted automatically. When virtual disk is closed, it becomes invisible and there is no access to your information. No one can see information or find it using Windows search feature and of course information can’t be changed if it is stored on encrypted disk!

On-the-fly term

Windows send to Rohos all the data you save on the virtual disk. Rohos automatically encrypts it and writes to the disk image file. This kind of encryption is called one-the-fly encryption.
